Bioparc Valencia, the Zoo with Children: An African Adventure for the Whole Family

Port Saplaya 02/12/2025

We've been lucky enough to visit the Bioparc in Valencia with our children many times. They're now 11 and 9 years old, but the first time they set foot in this little corner of Africa, they were just 1 year old. The Bioparc is a perfect outing that suits all ages: it's easy to navigate with a stroller and remains fascinating for older children. We've noticed that, from the age of 2, the visit becomes a real marvel for them!

The Zoo-Immersion Concept: Without Barriers

What truly impresses visitors on every visit is its revolutionary Zoo-Immersion concept. Here, the barriers between visitors and animals are virtually invisible. You feel immersed in the wild, as if you were in direct contact with African ecosystems, recreated down to the smallest detail to ensure the animals' well-being.

But Bioparc's objective goes beyond animal welfare; it seeks to move us. Its powerful motto, "To Move in Conserving," summarizes its mission. If we can impress and move our children with the wildlife they see, we will be planting a crucial seed in them, instilling in them a desire to conserve the environment. After all, our children are the future of the planet.

Discovering the Habitats of Bioparc

The park is divided into four large habitats that replicate different African ecosystems:

  • Madagascar: A pleasant, green space with wooded areas, a river, and a beautiful waterfall. It's home to playful lemurs (which you can see hopping freely), flamingos, and pelicans.
  • African Savannah: The classic Serengeti landscape, where you can observe large herds of antelopes, elephants, zebras and the elegant giraffes.
  • Equatorial Forest: The dense jungle that is home to species such as leopards, buffalo, and the endearing family of chimpanzees and gorillas.
  • Wetlands: An area dedicated to aquatic life, where you can see the large hippos swimming in the impressive replica of Kitum Cave.

Free Exhibitions and Activities

To enhance your visit, Bioparc offers a full program of activities, all included in the admission price. We recommend checking the Bioparc schedule so you don't miss any special events.

  • Bird and mammal exhibits .
  • Themed guided tours (like those in Madagascar).
  • Feeding times for animals, such as giraffes or gorillas.
  • Occasionally, specific educational activities for schoolchildren.

Bioparc Tickets: Offers and Tips

Special Anniversary Promotion in February 2025!

Attention! This February 2025, Bioparc celebrates its 17th anniversary with a double "cause" promotion.

  • A one-day ticket has a single price of €20 + €1 solidarity contribution.
  • The B! Annual Pass has a promotional price of €50 + €1 for solidarity.

The €1 extra from both promotions goes through the BIOPARC Foundation to bat conservation projects. A great way to enjoy yourself and help others! (Note: this offer is generally valid for online purchases made in advance).

Purchase and Schedules

Tickets can be purchased online and at the box office. If you buy online, you must choose a time slot for entry (10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00) for better capacity control, which makes your visit easier.

Practical Tips for Visiting the Bioparc with Children

  • Food and Drink: Outside food is not allowed, but you are permitted to bring water in plastic containers. If you don't want to spend money inside, you can have lunch in the picnic areas at the entrance and eat your meal outside the park.
  • Dining inside: The park has restaurants, some with excellent views of the savanna. If you eat early, you can take advantage of the off-peak hours to visit areas you haven't yet seen.
  • Annual Pass: If you live in Valencia, the B! Annual Pass is a worthwhile investment, especially since children under 4 get in free. You can visit more often and at your own pace!
  • Parking: There is a parking lot available right next to the Bioparc for your convenience.

We've put together a short video summary of one of our visits where you can see a little bit about how Bioparc works... It's an experience you'll love!
